RED hot Southern Highlands franchise Petro Souths are in Port Moresby for the second time this season to take on city boys Eastern Stars in the Telikom National Soccer League at Lloyd Robson Oval tomorrow.

Under coach Mathew Witu, the Southern Highlands team are currently pumped up after upsetting Gigira Laitepo Morobe 2-0 two weeks ago and also gave Besta PNG United a run for their money with a 1-all draw.

Witu, former Hekari and Besta PNG United coach, knows his trade and will be relying on skipper Roger Maimba, Marshall Lori, Joey Ambrose, Ungia Aiyoke and Bonnie James for his attack tomorrow.

The team, according to a Witu, consists of raw talents put togetherand he is not expecting any miracles from them.

He will be relying on stylish flanker James Kawori from Lake Kutubu for his passion and speed at the flanks which has proved entertaining to the crowd.

Even though he is not expecting too much from his charges, Witu warned the Stars that anything could happen on the field.

Stars coach Eddie Omokirio is likely to retain the bulk of the team that lost to Hekari last weekend, with a few changes expected.

A win will ensure they remain on top with Hekari.

The Stars franchise owner Joseph Ealadona said his boys were looking for a win tomorrow.

Ealadona said his boys played well but they did not play according to game plan.

He reminded the boys to stay focused and maintain discipline on the field.

In other matches, Tukoko University will play Madang Fox at Laiwaden Oval.

This is the chance for the Fox to restore some lost pride in front of their local crowd.

Nothing must be taken away from Unitech boys as they would be out for a win as well.

Madang soccer followers are urged to show up for the match up at Laiwaden Oval.

Lae will witness the clash of the seniors and juniors as Gigira Laitepo Morobe FC take on the juniors Besta PNG United from football academy.

The match promises to be an entertaining match.

In women’s league, University will take on Hekari while Maxpro PNGIPA take on Bizprints Angel.

In Lae, Bara will take on PNG Power while Wau play Lae Central.

The unofficial NSL ladder stands as: Hekari 19, Easter Star 17, Gigira Morobe 12, Petro Souths 11, Tukoko University 11, Besta PNG 10 and Madang Fox 4.
