THE National Souths Basketball League (NSBL) will field a select side to participate in the semi-professional basketball competition, PNG Men’s Basketball League next season.

NSBL president Silas Nicky yesterday said the teams (men and women) will be selected from the upcoming National South Basketball League (NSBL) in September.

Nicky urged the basketball teams who want to be part of this new prospect to attend the NSBL tournament in Port Moresby.

“NSBL will work closely with the PNG Basketball Federation headed by Nick Daroa to ensure the game moves forward,” he said.

“On behalf of the NSBL and its affiliates, I want to commend Daroa and his executives for organising the recent All Stars challenge in Lae,” he said.

Nicky is appealing to business houses and politicians from Southern Highlands to support the upcoming NSBL.

The tournament will be used to identify hidden talents to represent PNG at the 2015 Pacific Games.

He said teams wishing to take part in the September’s NSBL tournament should pay their K5,000 registration fee now.

The money can be deposited to National Souths Basketball League’s BSP account: 1003574637, Mendi, SHP.

The deadline for the registration is Aug 23. For more information please contact Nicky on 72681935 or David Peter on 71146446.
