SP Hunters receiving salaries

THE SP Hunters will still be paid their salaries despite the Intrust Super Cup’s (ISC) 10-week suspension over the coronavirus pandemic, says Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League (PNGRFL) chairman Sandis Tsaka.
PNGRFL chairman Tsaka told The National that all the players and officials would receive their normal pay as per the one-year contracts they had signed prior to the start of the season.
“But they will not be paid bonuses like match payments, travel allowances and others for the duration of the suspension,” he said.
“The ISC is scheduled to resume on June 5 but that’s just a tentative date.”
Tsaka said the Hunters, who returned from Brisbane, Australia, on Wednesday, had been put in quarantine for 14 days.
“This is a precautionary measure,” he said.
“They will remain in camp at East Boroko until further advice. At the moment, they aren’t training.
“The players who did not travel to Brisbane for the round-one match have been told to leave camp temporarily as a precautionary measure.
“When the players are cleared, all the others should return to camp. Everyone in camp is remaining positive. The players are well with no issues relating to the virus. But they must follow protocol.
“Like any organisation, we are complying with advice from the Government and health authorities.
“This is the approach we’ll take for the welfare of our players and officials.”

    common sense

    But good on your MANAGMENT
    THANKS

  • NRL teams in Aussie have an issue with pays while Mr. Tsaka continues to pay the players. That is not a common sense BUT the top management team in PNGRFL headed by Mr. Tsaka. Good on you and keep it up….
