Sparrows backed to develop netballers

THE Sparrows are set to start their netball campaign on a high note under Credit Corp’s three-year (2017–2019) commitment to the club.
The club has been successful in the Port Moresby Netball competition over the last five years, finishing off as back-to-back winners in the premier competition in 2017 and 2018.
According to club president Lawrence Lahari, this is because of a “strong junior development programme we’ve invested in over the last five to eight years, which we are seeing the results of”.
“Our junior base continues to grow and we mould our players to become the best they can at their own pace with some guidance and mentoring,” Lahari said.
“The club has over the years contributed to the Pepes since 1989 and in recent years.
“They include the likes of Kilala Own, Courtney Abel, Nerrie Adula and Margaret Eka.”
