Sparrows out to make amends
By HUXLEY LOVAI
TOMORROW’s match between Sparrows and Paramana is the pick-of-the-round in the Port Moresby Netball Association’s premier division.
Defending champions Sparrows, who are coming off a disappointing loss last week to Telstars, will want to put in a more determined performance to make up for that dismal showing.
Paramana will be on a high following their victory last week over competition leaders Mermaids.
Paramana know they will be in for a fiery encounter against the Sparrows, who defeated them earlier in the season.
Both teams have in their ranks experienced campaigners alongside up-and-coming youngsters, who will be eager to prove themselves.
Shooters for Paramana Marie Ottio and Rowena Djengozov, both of whom had impressive outings last weekend, will have to contend with the formidable defensive pairing of Kilala Owen and Aisha Roberts of the Sparrows.
The game will be won and lost for both teams in the goal and centre third of the court. The centre court of both teams will surely punish any mistakes that their opponents make, while exploiting any weaknesses they may find.
