SPARROWS’ shooters Jephat Tulapi and Jacklyn Lahari put the heat on Paramana’s defence to earn their side to 32-29 win on Saturday at the Rita Flynn Netball Courts.

With two more games remaining before the finals in the Port Moresby Netball competition, the fight for the top four is on.

The Digicel-sponsored Sparrows along with the Snax Mermaids and CPL Rebels are the teams to beat.

Monier Paramana, without the services of current Pepes Kula Iamo and Vavine Iamo, kept the margin close and could have won with better execution.

Paramana’s nifty midcouter Gasi Moka and youngster Shannah Dringo played strongly creating space and options for shooter Renagi Dringo to score.

Paramana’s defenders in lofty Susan Wellington and Ravu Raula did their best to hassle and block Tulapi and Lahari but both women still managed to score points under pressure.
