THE Speaker and the Attorney-General are parties in the proceedings in a Supreme Court case filed by Opposition leader, Belden Namah.

Namah’s lawyer, Loani Henao yesterday told Chief Justice Sir Salamo Injia, who was sitting as a one-man Supreme Court bench, that the application was filed in relation to Parliament’s recent amendment of Section 145 of the Constitution regarding a motion of no confidence.

Sir Salamo directed that sealed copies of the application be served on the Speaker of Parliament, Theo Zurenuoc, and principal legal advisor of the Attorney-General Kerenga Kua.

The Supreme Court directed the service of the documents could be done personally on Zurenuoc and Kuaor at their respective offices by tomorrow.

Sir Salamo ordered that the matter be returned to him on Nov 5.
