Special Air Niugini flight for delegates to the Games

NATIONAL carrier Air Niugini operated a special fight on Friday morning, flying Team PNG from Port Moresby to Apia, Samoa, for the 16th Pacific Games.
In command of the fight was captain Paun Nonggor and first officer Sean Te’o. Also on the fight was Captain Samiu Taufa.
While the Papua New Guinea tech and cabin crew were proud to have flown Team PNG to the Games, Samoan Te’o couldn’t be any prouder, flying the delegation to his home country. The contigent included 167 athletes and officials.
A total of 376 Papua New Guinea athletes are competing across 25 sports, with rugby league nines, squash, tennis, beach volleyball, cricket, soccer, basketball (5×5) and table tennis all kicking off proceedings today.
Papua New Guinea will be up against Fiji, Vanuatu, Tahiti, Samoa, Cook Islands, Marshall Islands, Kiribati, New Caledonia, Guam, Niue, American Samoa, Federated States of Micronesia, Australia, New Zealand, Northern Mariana Islands, Norfolk Island, Wallis and Futuna, Tokelau, Tonga, Palau, Tuvalu, Nauru and the Solomon Islands.
The Games start today and end on July 20.
