THE RH Hypermarket gave 150 children from the PNG Children Foundation free tickets to Vision City’s Paradise Cinema yesterday as a Christmas treat.
General manager Ang Cheng Chooi said children also wanted to enjoy the festive season although some might not have the opportunity to do so.
He told the children that RH’s objective was to bring joy to them because they were the future human resources of the country.
“Because many of you would not afford to come here on your own, RH decided to bring you here. We are proud that this is one little way we are giving back to the people of PNG. We will continue to do this.
“Though you are unfortunate, we value you as the future of this beautiful country. We therefore want to put smiles on your faces by bringing you to this place.”
He told the children to aspire to become productive in life by cultivating good attitudes such as being obedient and respectful to parents, elders and peers.
“The future of PNG lies with you. You are the people to make a difference for your country.”
Elizabeth Joe, a teacher at the foundation’s learning centre, said it enrolled about 200 children this year.
