SPIRITUAL development is fundamental and paramount to economic and social development according to a chief from Keapara village.

John Kali, head of the Pa’uolo Na’ana family and Department of Personnel Management secretary, explained to those gathered at the family fundraising last Saturday that his family had decided to invest their money in the construction of the church building and a hall that would contribute to everyone’s spiritual development.

He said other households from their Vanugaraka clan had been doing or are doing the same raising funds for the same purpose.

“We formed this view on the premise that our bodies and our hearts are the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit and a collection or gathering of our bodies makes up the Body of Christ – which is the Church.”

Keapara village lies about 130 kilometres south east of the nation’s capital in Central.

The day was filled with dancing and eating as families and friends got together to contribute.
