Sponsor gets special award

MOBILE company Digicel was the proud recipient of the platinum sponsorship award from the Papua New Guinea Sports Federation and Olympic Committee (PNGSFOC) for its major support of Team PNG to the London Olympics this year.
Digicel PNG operations director Lorna McPherson was present to receive the award at the welcome reception for Team PNG in Port Moresby last Friday.
After receiving the award, McPherson welcomed the Olympians back home.
She said: “We are honored to be recognised for our long standing commitment and support to the PNG Sports Federation and are delighted to receive this platinum award.
“Digicel has been passionately and actively involved in contributing to the development of sports and in promoting sportsmanship in the country through financial sponsorships as well as through brand ambassadors such as our two Olympians Theresa Tona and Nelson Stone.”
