PLATINUM sponsors of Port Moresby Vipers have urged the side to aim high in the Digicel Cup this season.
The Moni Plus-sponsored franchise launched its season last Thursday.
Moni Plus chairman Aho Baliki said the club had produced great results in the last two seasons, finishing in the top-six.
He challenged the players to continue the spirit of consistent.
Baliki said the franchise was the rugby league flagship of the National Capital District (NCD).
“I must emphasise the importance of the Moni Plus Vipers,” he said. “We’re not only a sporting club or rugby league team.
“We’re a professional entity supported by professional organisations and people.”
Baliki told the players to wear the Vipers jersey with pride and play with honour when representing their sponsors and supporters.
“When you wear the jersey, you’re representing all the sponsors, supporters and NCD as a whole,” he said.
“So when you’re on or off the field, I encourage you to have discipline and be good ambassadors of your sponsors.”
Vipers bowed out of the quarterfinals against Hela Wigmen last season. The club is boosted by experienced campaigners Stanton Albert, Stargroth Amean, Enock Maki and Brendon Gotuno.
