Spread gospel: Bishop

Faith

REPRESENTATIVES from the different parishes in the Catholic Diocese of Lae have been urged to practice what they have learned and communicate Gospel values in their lives.
Lae Bishop Rozario Menezes said this at the conclusion of a week-long communications seminar for 27 representatives from different parishes in the city.
The seminar was held from Feb 8-12 at the St Joseph’s Pastoral Centre.
The theme of the seminar was “Communicating and connecting with each other on our journey of faith” and was hosted by the Diocese of Lae’s Catholic FM 103.7 team.
The facilitators were Catholic Bishops Conference social communications secretary Fr Ambrose Pereira and his team director of Radio Maria Fr Martin We-en and director of Trinity FM Sr Mary Lillian.
The sessions focused on the newsletter of the diocese, World Communication Day, writing news articles, audio recordings, photography, short films and live-streaming.
The sessions had practical activities as well.
The seminar had prayer moments to strengthen the faith of the participants.
According to Fr Brian Nonde, director of Catholic FM 103.7 and host of the seminar, the participants were placed in strategic places where they could support, encourage and become the voice of the voiceless in communities in Morobe.
“They have a great potential of feeding the platforms and means of communication at our disposal with verified information,” Fr Brian said.
“So, together, we can communicate positive messages in our society and bring about good change.”
