St Ignatius Secondary suspends six students
The National, Monday February 29th, 2016
THE St Ignatius Secondary School in West Sepik has terminated six students from the 105 suspended recently over disciplinary matters, principal Hillary Suamba said.
Suamba said most of the students received final warnings and some lost their boarding privileges following a board decision last Thursday.
He said the 105 male students were members of the Faul Pes Congregation (FPC) who had failed to comply with school rules, policies and routine over time.
He clarified that it was not a cult group.
“This is a group (FPC) whose members have been opposing school rules, policies and routine,” he said.
“Over the years, we (St Ignatius) have observed members breaching school rules and opposing prefects and other students who tried to correctly enforce school rules.
“The name of the group is Faul Pes Congregation (FPC) and their moto is Stap Faul, Raun Faul.
“They said it was a group that lived as brothers, helping each other.
“Formation and involvement in such groups distract students from their studies. We want to help all students concentrate on studies and avoid being involved in such activities.
“The full board of governors (BOG) met and made decisions on the students.
“Most students received general last warning, some were made day students. Six students were terminated because they had faced the board of governors previously.”
