The St Therese Primary School U16 male team are a force to be reckoned with, Port Moresby School Football Association’s John Agovai says.
The side made the U16 grand final last year but lost to Paradise International School.
This year, the team has stepped up a gear as they look to dominate their matches and put their rivals on notice.
“The team is leading the way in the U16 male division,” Agovai said.
“They have two players in the team that attend the Southern Strikers Academy, so that’s a plus for them.
“Their rate of success is high because of the consistency in their player base.
“We saw that most of their players played in the grand final last year and this year is no different.
“The headmistress of St Therese Primary School, Christine Tsuga, is also a founder of Mungkas FC in the Port Moresby Soccer Association.
“So we can see a bit of Mungkas influence there which has rubbed off on the team.”
On Saturday, St Therese were impressive in their 2-0 win over Nonu.
