Staff told to work with new acting secretary

THE management and staff of the Petroleum Department have been asked to work with new acting secretary Lohial Nuau to achieve theiur goals this year.
Media consultant Joe Ealedona, on behalf of Petroleum Minister Dr Fabian Pok said this during the handover ceremony between outgoing acting-secretary Kepsey Puiye and Nuau in Port Moresby yesterday.
Ealedona said there were three important projects for the department this year:

  • Landowner beneficiaries identification project (Lobid);
  • Total and other gas projects; and,
  • Petroleum Resource Authority.

“Changes have happened. We all know the issues in the department, and we all know why the changes should happen.”
Nuau thanked Pok, Prime Minister Peter O’Neill and the National Executive Council for having confidence in his work in the department and appointing him.
“I will do my best to perform as to what is required in the department, to achieve the priorities of the Government of the day,” he said.
