Stakeholders end differences

 STAKEHOLDERS on Lihir, New Ireland, have ended political issues and differences regarding the Lihir Sustainable Development Plan that had affected delivery of goods and services for more than six years.

Key stakeholders of the integrated benefits package (IBP) and memorandum of agreement (MOA) of the Lihir Gold mine, Lihir Mining Area Landowners (LMALA) and Nimamar LLG signed an agreement to end political issues and differences.

The agreement; Kavieng Accord Principles, was an achievement for the people in delivering services.

Signatories to the agreement included LMALA chairman James Laketan and president of Nimamar LLG Ambrose Silul, chairmen of six major clans and the provincial government, MRA and New Crest Mining Limited.
