Stand up for what is right, says Dadae

Stand up for what is right even if it means making unpopular decisions, says Governor-General Sir Bob Dadae.
In his Easter message to the nation, the governor-general says righteousness will ultimately result in good triumphing over evil.
“Granted, in this fast-moving, overworked and sometime depressing environment we live in, as well as the ever increasing challenges of meeting the needs of our family in a morally declining world, there seem to be little or no time spent on our spiritual wellbeing,” Sir Bob said.
“This need not be. As Christians, applying what we learn from the Bible can make a huge difference in our personal lives. We abhor immoral and unethical conducts and strive unreservedly to conduct ourselves with honesty, respect and dignity. Standing up for what is right must be our constant goal even if it means making unpopular decisions, but one that will ultimately result in good triumphing over evil.
“As we improve on personal conduct to be in line with Christian teachings, we will also experience contentment and satisfaction in our lives.
“Our positive demeanor can also influence and impact the lives of others and thereby contribute to a positive environment for our families, communities and our nation.
“As we look forward towards hosting the biggest regional event our country has hosted, the Apec summit at the end of the year, may we be reminded of our duty as Christians to ‘do what is right and just’ to all. (Proverbs 21:3)
