THE people of Kaintiba and Kotidanga districts of  Gulf province want Governor Havila Kavo, Kerema MP Pitom Bombom and other provincial leaders to set aside their differences and work together for the common good of the people.
The people who have been affected by food shortage due to continuous rains have asked Richard Panama, president of the Kotidanga local level government council, to convey their frustrations with the Governor and the provincial administration regarding the status of relief funds and supplies which had yet to reach them.
“The people from the two areas continue to suffer from food shortage and there has not been any help from the provincial government and provincial administration since the problem began last year,” Mr Panama said
He asked the provincial leaders to review and fast-track the release of K200,000 by the National Disaster Centre (NDC) to the Gulf provincial government.
He said the assessment report by the health team was presented to NDC last November but nothing had eventuated because NDC was still waiting for an explanation from the provincial government.
