STEAMSHIPS Trading Company (STC) has donated K400,000 to Youth with A Mission Medical Ships – Australia (YWAM MSA) for medical and training outreaches in Papua New Guinea.

STC Group logistics general manager Robin Bradshaw presented the cheque yesterday to YWAM MSA’s managing director Ken Mulligan at the Steamships Coastal Shipping office.

The funding was a key part of YWAM and STC’s four-year partnership to deliver health services in rural and remote areas of Western and other provinces.

Bradshaw said Steamships recognised the importance of strong relations with the communities.

“Helping YWAM provide health services to the rural community aids progress towards local and national development goals,” he said.

Mulligan said YWAM would not be able to carry out its programmes without the support from STC.

“It’s a wonderful reflection of STC’s commitment to PNG,” he said.
