THE Steamships Trading Company will build its K250 million Harbourside South project following a ground-breaking ceremony attended by Prime Minister James Marape on Tuesday.
“We are excited about the progress already made by our principal contractors China State Construction Engineering Corporation PNG Ltd and the other contractors involved,” managing director Michael Scantlebury said. The Harbourside precinct will prominently feature along the Stanley Esplanade and Champion Parade in the Central Business District of Port Moresby.
The building is expected to be completed by May 2022.
The project will provide a tower which has 21 levels, 88 prime residential units, retails and commercial spaces, 330 car parks and a pedestrian access to the Harbourside East and West.
The building project is a partnership between Steamships and the PNG Sustainable Development Programme.
Marape was joined by National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop, Motu Koita Assembly chairman Dadi Toka Jr, Scantlebury, government officials and business executives.
