SEXUALLY Transmitted Infections (STIs) are prevalent in rural communities, according to Sr Josephine Andreas, field supervisor and nursing officer of the ATprojects community home-based care programme.
Andreas said this following a two-day STI clinic at the Kerefa CHBC site near Goroka, Eastern Highlands, recently.
The clinic saw more than 200 women, mostly mothers and several sexually active younger women, being treated and given counselling on sexually transmitted diseases.
