Stick to designated bus routes in city

I AM saddened to learn about the unfortunate death and injuries that occurred last week along the Independence Boulevard intersection at Waigani, Port Moresby.
The accident was caused by a drunk police officer who bumped into a PMV bus travelling from Gordon to Waigani.
While the blame rests on the drunk officer, the driver of the PMV bus was also at fault by taking an unauthorised route. Route 15 buses are not sanctioned to travel using that road.
Why did the driver take that route?
The carelessness of the driver should be blamed for the injuries and deaths as well.
It is common for PMV bus drivers to take designated routes or shortcuts.
This one unfortunately wasn’t lucky this time.
