Still no answer to Chimbu’s K30 million funding

The National, Tuesday March 25th, 2014

BOMAII Mingaru’s response  on March 11 to my letter lacks substance and is way off the expected spectrum.
I am surprised you used the  Karamui Road funding as the prime line to respond to my queries.
The national government funded that project and it has its own auditing and investigation arm to deal with any anomalies that surfaces along the use of the funds.
Since Mingaru is speaking about the project pipelines of Chimbu, he needs to outline the main prospects of my queries comprehensively.
What social and economic benefits would the Karamui mega-hydropower project bring to the people?
What medium of transport  would you use to transport the material to Karamui for construction?
I think the existing infrastructures and services are in  dire straits and ought to be given high priority.
I applaud Karamui-Nomane MP Mogerema Wei for the additional funding of  K10 million for the Karamui Road.
It is quite unclear how much money the governor has committed as counterpart funding for this road because it will facilitate much-needed services to the people of Karamui and open up the economic corridors of  Chimbu as well.
My other point was about the use of the K30 million provincial support improvement programme allocation last year by the governor.
What tangible infrastructural  development did that K30 million bring about last year?
Or is the mega electricity proposal the only one?
I know there are other Simbus out there who also share the same sentiments with me and want to know how many ground-breaking ceremonies were held for projects under this funding  and  how  many ribbons were cut to solemnise the openings of new developments.
The Chuave limestone project you mentioned has nothing  to  do  with  the  Chimbu governor because it  was  funded by the national government.
The Chuave MP and Mining Vice-Minister Wera Mori are coordinating that project.
Mingaru has to get his statistics and facts into perspective instead of slashing the shrubs from the top trying to make a nit-picker’s nest.
My main question is where  was  the  K30  million spent in one year and what infrastructure development initiatives were conceptualised and developed under this funding that stands to benefit the Chimbu people at large.
