Still no execs for NVS

THE National Volunteer Service still does not have a board and an executive director.
Department of Community Development secretary Joseph Klapat said Minister Dame Carol Kidu was working to ensure the board was in place next month.
The executive director’s position has been vacant since May last year and this position will be filled after the NVS board is appointed.
Mr Klapat rejected suggestions in the media that there was a duplication of NVS office in his department.
He assured NVS officers that there was no NVS office within the department.
Mr Klapat said as NVS came under the Community Development Ministry, its affairs were under the department and the ministry.
