STONE’S Taekwondo is aiming to promote junior development for the martial art in Port Moresby.

Veteran taekwondo chief instructor Jamuga Stone has set his priorities and focus on teaching the basics of martial arts in the early ages to master the skills.

Stone is embarking on promoting its popular martial arts programme  Little Dragons and Young Warriors.

He said the Little Dragons target age group will be from  seven to 14-years-old and the Young Warriors target age group is from 15-21-year-olds.

Stone said these age groups were vulnerable to peer pressure and were prone to being harmed and influenced into undesirable activities.

The programme includes general fitness, flexibility and agility, traditional taekwondo, self-defense and sports taekwondo.

Stone said the programme devised includes 12-weeks of training and will instil the core objectives of the concept, while helping identify potential athletes for future representative duty.

Registration for the programme, which commences on April 30, is now open for and closes on April 25.

The full programme fee is K470  per person and only 80 spots are available for both programme.
