Stop coastal villages from polluting beaches

IT is very good for well-meaning corporate houses to keep having clean-up campaigns, but what is the point of it all if the very people who keep polluting the beaches are not held responsible?

Ela Beach and other surrounding beaches in Port Moresby are disgusting with the constant flow of rubbish from surrounding coastal villages.

Do they not have village councillors and leaders who can help them address and manage the chronic waste problem?

Maybe there are just no educated or caring people in these villages to take responsibility and leadership over the issue.

It is really an eyesore and a health issue for concerned communities, city dwellers and the marine life.

Motuan leaders really need to provide more leadership for their people for them to start improving their attitudes and clean up their act.
