Stop promoting regionalism

Letters

PEOPLE who shift voluntarily from the rural areas to towns and cities should not promote ethnicity and regionalism.
Instead they should co-exists with our fellow brothers and sisters from PNG irrespective of language, colour, culture from various parts of the beautiful country.
We are to comprehend each other and promote peace and unity, share the love that was shared to all mankind by our Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
It is a depressing scenario leading into Christmas for those living 8-Mile and 9-Miles in Port Moresby, including the relatives and families of those that lost their lives and destruction of properties.
Such ethnic ferocity is inconsistent to our society’s values, particularly the popular saying ‘One People, One Nation and One Country’.
By now we should be advanced in our thinking and inspire one another to live meaningfully with others.
We should always refer such illegitimate behaviours and demeanours to the rule of law to consider and anticipate on for non-violent resolutions between parties.
It is very sickening to see such massive damages and loss of properties that took a lot of years and money to build, going up in flames within an hour and valuable lives lost.
Police would enforce the law easily if individuals/groups in settlements are ready to surrender for peaceful negotiations and solutions.
