Stop Unagi Oval, Manu markets

Letters

ON my way to work on Friday, I noticed market vendors at Port Moresby’s Unagi Oval and Manu market fighting each other for space to sell their items.
Given the rise in Coronavirus (Covid-19) and the Delta variant, can the relevant authorities stop markets such as Unagi Oval and Manu market?
It was earlier stopped, but for some reason, people are selling and attracting many people.
These places are crowded most times.
The Covid-19 is more likely to spread in places that are overcrowded.
Can the pandemic response controller and responsible authorities act now by stopping these markets?
These markets not only pose health risk, they are becoming breeding grounds for bag-snatchers and drug addicts who harass our mothers, daughters and innocent people.
