Student charged with murder

A GRADE 10 student in Manus has been charged with the wilful murder of a man he is accused of having had a row with.
Provincial Police Commander Chief Inspector David Yapu said Elizah Sipayau, 20, is from Bundrahi village in the Pobuma local level government and a student at Lokobou High School.
He is charged with the death of Allan Damien, 23, from Likum village. The death was related to the theft of betel nut at a block between Bundrahi and Likum. Yapu said Damien died in a fight.
Sipayau surrendered to police. Police were deployed to the area to contain the tense situation that arose after the incident.
