MOROBE Tertiary Students Union is calling on all tertiary students to pay their K100 union fee.
President Hans Roy Gwaiko called all Morobe students’ association executives in the 21 institutions that benefit from Morobe provincial government’s Gerson-Solulu scholarship to enforce the K100 fee.
“The union fee is a requirement under the union bylaws as a policy for students to pay the money to support union and their respective associations,” he said.
“K50 will be sent to the union for its administrative cost in fighting for students’ welfare, organizing student awareness and outreaches in secondary schools and communities in Morobe.”
Gwaiko said the other K50 was for respective students associations to run their own affairs and to attend to student needs.
He said those institutions that did not have an account should give the K100 to their respective institution president, while those with an account should pay directly.
Institutions sponsored by the scheme are UPNG, Unitech, UOG, University of Natural Resources and Environment, Divine Word University, Pacific Adventist University, National Polytechnic Institute, Martin Luther Seminary, with 13 education, nursing and technical colleges.
