Student wins flag competition
The National, Wednesday February 24th, 2016
WEST Sepik student Kesia Thomas, 19, is the Lae winner of The National back-to-school flag competition.
Thomas could not hide her excitement when her name was announced last Wednesday with the winners from Port Moresby, Kokopo and Mt Hagen.
Thomas is doing her second semester at the Distant Learning Centre, a branch of the University of Papua New Guinea at Top Town in Lae.
Thomas receives K500 worth of stationery from The National and a gift pack fill up with stationery from the US Embassy.
She said she was surprised to see her name as the Lae winner for competition.
“I have tried many competitions and this is my first win. And these stationery will greatly assist me in my school work,” Thomas said.
“Thank you The National for running such a competition and to the US embassy for partnering in sponsoring the items in the gift pack.”
