UNIVERSITY of Papua New Guinea student John Loko is the winner of the Eda Ranu Foundation logo competition.

He received K3,000 at the Eda Ranu head office in Port Moresby last Thursday.

Eda Ranu chief executive officer Henry Mokono said there were many entries received but Loko’s logo was the best.

“The logo truly depicts the nature and the functions of the Eda Ranu Foundation,” Mokono said.

The Eda Ranu Foundation was established to serve the needs of the Koiari and the Motu-Koitabu landowners.

“It will be a vehicle to deliver services like education, health and create business opportunities for the landowners,” he said.

Mokono said it was the best approach the entity could take to meet the needs of the people. K500,000 had been allocated to start the operation.

“We believe the entity will cater for the needs of the people and that it will complement the effort of the Government in providing services to the people.”

Loko, from Sandaun, thanked Eda Ranu for the initiative and said he would use the money to help finance his study next year.
