Students and principal visit Indonesia school

 THE presence of Tiaravanni Hermawan (an Indonesian student) in Port Moresby, in particular St Joseph’s International Catholic College, saw a reciprocal visit to Indonesia by students of St Joseph’s International Catholic College. 

Two male and three female students were accompanied by Indonesian teacher, Yogiarti Barampataz, to Indonesia from July 5-12, 2013. They visited Bali, Jakarta and Semarang.

In Bali, they learnt the Balinese culture by visiting various tourist attractions and dance performances. 

Meanwhile, during their stay in Jakarta they visited the National Monument and Miniatur Park of Indonesia. 

In Central Java, they visited the temples of Prambanan and Borobudur. 

Their activities ended in Semarang by following the lessons together with students of Senior High School 3 Semarang.

On the first day at the Senior High School 3 Semarang they were accepted by the principal, vice principal for student and finance, the head office of the school, as well as English teachers. 

Present to accompany the students were Barampataz, scholarship coordinator of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Dr AB Susanto, one of the successful alumni, Dr Bambang WHEP, and the Education Attaché, Indonesian Embassy in Port Moresby.

On his presentation, the principal said Senior High School 3 Semarang was one of the leading senior high schools in Indonesia. 

The principal welcomed students and congratulated them. 

Although they stayed for only one week, it was expected that the students might socialise with students of the School 3 Semarang and gain some international experience.
