STUDENTS from four schools in Nawaeb, Morobe, celebrated the international hand-washing day with activities related to the theme “clean hands for all”.
Students of Boana High School, Boana Primary School, Boana Elementary School and Tinibe Prinary School with their parents and teachers came together last Thursday to mark the day.
Children drew posters, performed plays and suggested themes and slogans relating to the theme.
Nawaeb district development authority chief executive James Neapukali said his officers and schools worked together to promote the behaviour.
Morobe Health Authority official Gina Zambuna praised the lifesaving skill demonstrated by the students.
“Obedience to simple instructions such as proper hand-washing can make a big difference in life,” she said.
“Hand washing is the simplest but most effective way of prevention against spread of diseases.
“Nawaeb can be a model for the province if this simple life-saving skill becomes part of your daily lives.”
