East New Britain International Training Institute (ITI) is not only providing quality and affordable education but also a sustainable green environment, says team leader Michael Novingu.
He said this after a major clean-up of Kokopo last weekend.
Novingu said ITI students cleaned up 1km of Kokopo and were aiming for 4km next year.
“Kokopo is a tourist hub of the country,” he said.
“Everyone must take ownership to keep the town clean at all times.
“Kokopo was once a very peaceful and beautiful place.
“This has gradually been disappearing.
“Betel nut stains and husks are polluting the town and it is not good for our visitors.”
