Students encouraged to practise godly values

MORE than 80 grade 12 students from Paglum Adventist Secondary School, in Mul-Baiyer district, Western Highlands, have been urged to practise godly values in order to succeed.
Dr Samuel Kopamu, the dean of science at the Pacific Adventist University (PAU), told the 87 graduating students on Sunday to avoid un-godly practices.
The graduation was held ahead of final examinations due on Oct 15-19.
Kopamu told the graduands to avoid corruption in order to find success.
“Do not conform yourself to the patterns of this world,” Kopamu said.
“This world is so corrupt.
“Stick to the values and principles that you were taught at Paglum.
“I have never smoked, chewed betel nut or drank alcohol.
“Can you do that and break my record?
“Do not put on un-godly dressings which provoke lust, but dress decently and reflect Christ in all you do and say.”
Kopamu urged the graduands to trust God and spend time reading the Bible daily to grow in wisdom.
It was the school’s third grade 12 graduation.
The school has 280 grade 10 students who did not graduate with the grade 12s.
Grade 10 students will sit for their national examinations from Oct 8-12.
