STUDENTS at the Lahara Birdwing School will stage the school’s first ever play titled The Lion King at the end of this month, an official says.

Principal Helen Harricknen said play school to Grade 2 students would play leading roles while those in Grades 3-6 would provide supporting roles.

“To give children ample time for practices we intend to give grades Prep, 1 and 2 an hour of practice time from 2.30-3.30 in the afternoon starting in week three,” she said.

“These practices will be on Monday to Thursday, excluding Friday.”

Harricknen said the play would not only instill confidence in the younger students but would enhance positive interaction between students of different grades.

The talent show served as an audition for casting roles and the proceeds from that went towards building the school’s music capacity.

Harricknen said the main goal of the talent show was to unearth hidden talents in students, as well as to showcase to parents and guardians what they have been doing.
