TWO children are recovering in hospital after a bus carrying students was involved in an accident in Port Moresby yesterday.
Metropolitan Superintendent Perou N’ Dranou told The National that police were investigating the accident.
He said information received so far was sketchy but he was told the bus full of students mostly from the Evedana Primary School near Bomana hit three vehicles.
People at the scene who saw what happened assaulted the driver.
N’Dranou said it was fortunate that police quickly arrived at the scene to stop it.
He told The National that the driver was taken to the police station.
“At the moment I haven’t received any report on what the charge has been laid on him (driver),” he said.
“I am also concerned about his medical condition.
“The (injured) children are at the Port Moresby General Hospital. They are (reportedly) in stable condition.”
