At least 50 students learn media skills and techniques during a media education seminar held for Catholic schools in Port Moresby.
Catholic Bishops Conference assistance media officer Abigail Seta said students from seven Catholic schools with their teachers attended the seminar. She said the students were taught the skills and techniques of the media.
“These includes the skills and techniques of handling camera, photo shots, and recording in radio, video recording and editing short videos,” Seta said.
Caritas student Ruth Oa Leteng said she learnt a lot about media and how to handle a camera and gadgets but mostly of how to love life and live life to the fullest.
Another student from Jubilee Catholic Secondary said there were many important things he had learnt and was willing to share with his companions at school.
Students were not only learning but were dedicated to act, shoot and edit their short films. All the institutions were able to complete their films.
The students from Jubilee, Marianville, Caritas, Don Bosco, Limana Vocational, Don Bosco Technological Institute and Sacred Heart Teachers’ College were happy with the media education programme which taught them new skills.
