Students on outreach visit schools

MEMBERS of the University of Technology tertiary students Christian fellowship visited secondary schools in Jiwaka this week as part of an outreach programme.
They talked to students about focussing on their goals and become responsible Christians to change the country.
The group held devotions, sang gospel songs, prayed and shared the Word of God with the students.
Fellowship president Samuel Konts said they were influencing young minds to think positively.
“You must be transformed in your mind to see change in your lives (Romans 12:2),” he said.
“Don’t underestimate yourself.
“Believe that you can be somebody. You have the potential to become a top engineer, pilot, doctor, lawyer, agriculturalist, mechanic, economist, accountant, politician or teacher in the future.
“All you’ve got to do is to trust yourself, trust God and work hard to achieve your dreams and goals.
“If other people can do it, you can do it.
“It only needs you to change.
“That is why we are here, stressing for mindset transformation.”
The 22 fellowship members urged students to give up on bad habits and attitudes.
They also provided information on courses offered at Unitech to the grade 12 and 11 students.
The team visited Fr Peter Fatima Secondary School on June 21 and Waghi Valley Secondary School on Tuesday.
They visited Minj Secondary yesterday and Anglimp Secondary School today.
They conducted their own fundraising for the trip to Jiwaka.
The outreach coincides with the two-week break for semester one.
