THE Goroka Committal Court has dismissed the case of 17 students from the University of Goroka for alleged altering figures producing fake school fee bank deposit receipts to the University bursary.
Magistrate Gerard Vetunawa upheld a submission by the lawyer representing the students, Maryanne Williams from Punau and Company Lawyers, to dismiss the charges for lack of evidence.
Vetunawa said credible evidence was lacking to commit the 17 students to the next stage of hearing.
The students were arrested and charged for alleged defrauding the UoG relating to tuition fees. The court has also order for their K500 bail each to be refunded.

  • Compared to other University, UOG is run as a business entity by the Land owner for their own benefit. Likewise, the UOG staff imitated the tradition and use their position for give and take. Especially the account staffs are the ones that practices corruption. They attend to you, when you gave them buai or smoke during lunch hour. Can the so called TMT look at how the school is run by these low esteemed PNGuineans. The country does not need such people.
