Students should set their priorities right

Letters

IT IS a big concern nowadays seeing school-aged children not setting their priorities right.
Setting aims and goals at primary level is the first thing every children in primary schools should do.
Studying at home and completing assessment tasks on time are the most important things a student should prioritise.
One sad thing that is evident today in our children is they do not have the habit of study.
They think doing homework is studying at home.
They turn to spend more time on things that do not benefit them.
Boomboxes and mobile phones are now the common things that drive them away from their true priorities.
Parents should step up in guiding their children in the path that will see them prosper.
Discipline is the best medicine in shaping our children’s behaviour and attitude towards learning. Tolerate less people in the house and cater for more space for our children to do their studies.
Continue to encourage them about the benefits of setting their priorities right.
God must be the centre of everything they do.
In that way, we’ll see our children progress despite challenges.
It will all come back to one thing – set your priorities right.
