Students stand out in uniforms during school shoe parade

STUDENTS from Silanga Primary School in Central Nakanai local level government (LLG) of West New Britain held a shoe parade on Friday.
Led by head girl Juliachim Saroa, the parade attracted people from nearby schools and villages. Saroa led the students with the National Anthem and Pledge.
Students were organised into their respective village groups of Gigolo, Babata, Kotou, Luge, Loa, Gaekeke, Kisiluvi-Lingite and Sabahami to showcase their uniforms based on the theme “Standardised uniforms promote better education”.
Judges came in from nearby schools, including Salesege, Uasilau and Kae primary schools.
The students also presented outstanding their project fees to the school management after the parade.
The school’s board of management treasurer, Billy Una, assured the parents and guardians that reports on the school’s use of funds would be presented and made available to parents soon.
