Student’s stationery concerns

SCHOOLS are not providing students with enough stationery and this has become another burden for parents, one student says.
Passam National High School student Irene Waji said: “As students of the school, we deserve those materials.
“But that is not the case for some.”
Waji said now parents not only had to buy stationery for their children but text books as well, adding that this meant parents had to dig deeper to put their children through school.
Her mother Joyce, who travelled with Irene and her siblings, said they travelled from Ramu to Lae to do their stationery shopping for 2019 academic year which starts on January 28.
Joyce said school would be starting soon so “as parents, we need to buy what they need”.
“We are responsible for their education and must make sure they get the best they can,” she said.
They will be travelling back to school by this weekend.
