STUDENTS of Namatanai Secondary School in New Ireland have been urged to value education and regard it as a valuable asset that will determine their future.
District education coordinator Robert Bulumaris said: “As you walk out of this school, continue to take education as a valuable asset.
“Your education doesn’t stop when you walk out of (this school)
Go out to the world, get educated and come back and develop Namatanai.”
Bulumaris said valuing education was not about disciplining students.
“It is about coming to school every day and attending to lessons in the classroom,” he said.
“We don’t want to (spent too much) time taking disciplinary actions on students who misbehave.”
Bulumaris said the school had done very well in its academic results in the past years and thanked teachers.
He thanked the parents for their continuous support towards their children and MP Walter Schnaubelt for supporting the school.
