Students urged to support survey

 STUDENTS have been urged to support the Office of the National Censorship Board’s pilot research project on the use of mobile phones. 

The project is on the use of mobile phones by school children to access indecent materials and information via the internet was conducted at the Port Moresby National High School (POMNATHS) and Sogeri National High School, in Central.

There was concern after students showed a lack of interest in participating by filling out research questionnaires. 

Research officer Cyril Kruak said he was disappointed at the lack of interest shown by students from POMNATHS who had returned only 36 questionnaires out of 323 that were distributed.

POMNATHS deputy principal Mathew Maito was also disappointed that most questionnaires were not returned. 

Kruak urged students to support such programmes that were conducted in schools as it  benefit them in future.

He will begin compiling data and analysis of the findings at the end of this month.
