CHIEF censor Jim Abani has urged Mainohana Catholic Secondary School students in Central’s Kairuku-Hiri to use technology responsibly.
“Use technology responsibly so that you do not become victims of abuse and indecent information,” Abani said.
He was speaking at the presentation of laptops, printers and smartphones worth K5,000 from the Office Censorship last Thursday.
Abani said last September, a censorship ambassador school programme was carried out by 20 grade 11 students.
Abani, who facilitated the programme, pledged to support the student ambassadors with devices that would support them in their studies and also with communication between the office and the school.
He extended his appreciation to the school administration for supporting their student participants in the programme last year and urged the censorship ambassadors to use the devices for their benefit.
Deputy principal administration Oscar Won encouraged the students to practise what they learnt through such organised programmes and extend the change to their peers and community as well.
