 UNIVERSITY of Papua New Guinea students will continue to promote the institution at all levels, Student Representative Council president Bobby Yupi said.
Yupi received K214,884 from the UPNG administration last week as part of the profit made last year from the university canteen.
“The students are important stakeholders at the university and we will do our best to promote the university at all levels and not let the administration down,” he said.
He promised the UPNG administration that the student council would maintain dialogue and conduct activities in a tactful and diplomatic manner.
He assured UPNG the student body would spend the money wisely in areas of concern to the students and provide acquittals at the end of the year.
The four projects it plans are:

  • A social venue with possibly a gymnasium that students and staff could use;
  • separate residential halls – one for students with disabilities and the other for SRC executives, and,
  • A stand-by generator.
