Subsidise air travel for Koiari people

Letters

KAIRUKU MP Peter Isoaimo was stranded at 7-Mile in Port Moresby over the festive season with leaders from the Mt Koiari area, after their attempt to catch a flight to attend a Seventh-day Adventist church evangelism programme in Efogi failed.
The lack of sustainable air subsidy programmes for government service delivery and passengers by the Central government into the inter-land airstrips of Central is severely affecting the livelihoods of the Mt Koiari people.
It is time the Central government and the Koiari local level government review their development plans and prioritise, establish and fund a sustainable air subsidy programme for service delivery and for people and freights.
This will help improve livelihoods of the Mt Koiari people in Central.
